The Lord Is Good!

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble, He cares for those who trust in Him, Nahum 1:10
For the Lord watches over the way of The righteous…Psalm 1:6
Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,”…

2 Timothy 2:19
Life is rich and even more so when we live it in the Lord. Today is a new day, it is “the first day of the rest of our life” as we have heard many times. How we live the day is strictly up to each one of us.
And, regardless of our circumstances we must stand on the promises of God as noted in the scriptures above. I know it is difficult during times of trouble and sadness; but I must stand on these promises no matter what. What else can I do? I need to trust and hope and believe that God will answer my need.
He always does! Blessed be the Name of the Lord!

Forgiven

I am not religious; just forgiven! And, as such, I will put my trust in the Lord. I, personally and with all my heart want to enter His rest!
He loves us enough to have become like us and “shared our humanity so that by his death he might break.. the power of him who holds the power of death…fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because He himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Hebrews 2:14-18
This is the God we serve; one who is capable and willing to assist us when necessary. I realize it isn’t God who removes himself from us. He desires to have an ongoing special relationship with each one of us. It is we who remove ourselves from Him and it can be due for a a variety of reasons.
Nonetheless, we must make the effort to take time and spend it with him. We definitely become better for it!

We live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Deuteronomy 8:3

How else could we possibly live joyfully and respectfully? I have personally discovered that I must live by God’s Word; I must believe it and trust and familiarize myself with it so I can best commit and do so without reservation.

The stresses and conflicts of daily living require much from us. They wear one out to points of exhaustion that can lead to oppression, fatigue of spirit, and lack of faith. It is the Word of God that provides the substance to enjoy daily living.

Moses told the people, “You must be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, following his instructions in every detail. Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives…and you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.”

It is good to remind myself that my strength comes from the Lord’s joy. And, that “people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” It is a good thing to read his word, listen to it and live it. That, in my view is wholehearted commitment!

Joy in His will…

I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. Psalm 40:8
We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. Psalm 39:6
All that we are and all that we do are for naught if we have no joy of our life and the purpose for having been given it. That’s the wonderful thing about the gift of life; we have purpose! God provides new mercies and new compassions every day!
Our purpose is embedded in our hearts and our joy is doing for and serving others for God’s honor. He provides what we need and His daily Word sustains us to do His will. Our giving of a smile, lending a hand, listening to another, providing an encouraging word are but simple ways to share joy with another.
If we move about with the “busyness” of our daily world without “thinking it” and “sharing it” with those that surround us, we fail our total purpose and it becomes nothing! We go here and we go there and we do this and we do that and the day passes by. We are weary; doing and going and passing and for what? Simply nothing!
God’s will for our life is anything but that! The prophet wrote: Get up…be strong and take action!
The joy of life is knowing deeply within those innermost recesses of our heart that The Lord is with us, always, and “he lives from everlasting to everlasting.”
