This morning, I woke with the thought, “God is my rock!” And, He truly is. When I consider the word, “rock” alone, I think of an anchor, strength, protection, foundation and solidity. The Psalmist wrote, “He is my rock and my salvation, my fortress, I shall not be shaken.” Psalm 62:6
How many times have I when faced with a situation cried out with trembling? It happens. But, when I go to the ”rock”for strength and comfort; I find it. It is always there.
The Psalmist continues, “On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.” Psalm 62:7. God is my safe place; and it is so soothing to my heart and soul to be there; assured and at peace.
“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” Psalm 62:8. The Psalmist encourages us to trust God and to find in Him the refuge and protection we seek. We will find it. This verse encourages us to “pour out our heart” or to earnestly seek Him.
Our daily communication and trust with God is what helps us remember our victories. “ These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.”Psalm 42:4
The Psalmist reminds himself and us that our strength and encouragement comes from our worship and trust. We must remember this, always.
