The other day, I was explaining to my grandson about “bullies” as he called them. He was telling me about an incident in school where this “little kid”was being pushed around by a “big kid”. My grandson was upset because he couldn’t do anything about it except run to call the teacher. I told him what he did was the right thing.
Last night, I listened and watched the newscast running a story about a young boy being harassed at school by a “bully” who went so far as to literally destroy the young boy’s hearing aids. There’s no question with all we see and hear on newscasts today that malevolence is everywhere.
So, this morning as I was taking my grandson to the bus stop I spoke with him about being a blessing to someone today. He asked me, “Nana, why do you tell me that almost every morning?” I told him as simply as I could that “being a blessing, is stronger than being a bully!” In my view the “bullies” of this world target the “seemingly” weak.
“God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises are true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.” Psalm 18:30
I know God is my protection and it is His Word that has given me the strength to face all the challenges that have come my way. The truth is that God didn’t promise to dispense with “bullies” or challenges; but he did promise to give us the strength to head them off. “God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. I chased my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until they were conquered.” Psalm 18:32-37
It’s an avant-garde strategy to pursue the “bully.” It usually bewilders and at best perplexes so all the “bully” can do is run. We can outrun the “bully” of our heart with God’s help and conquer victoriously.
It is God who arms, who makes the way, who trains, who strengthens, who gives, who supports us. We would never grow without the challenges and the “bullies” of life. And, we would never grow without his Word to guide us and strengthen us. This is so relevant to victorious living! His Word trains us and shows us how to win our battles and be a blessing to others.
Use His Word to make a triumphant connection with the “bullies” in life! This will demonstrate your real Strength; he always stands right beside us to face them.
