Get Going and Live!

What about those times in your life when you have hesitated to go forth in a venture because of the risks involved? What stopped you from going forward and if you did go forward, what was it that made you do it? Did you seize the day? “Carpe Diem!” Life is an adventure; full of possibilities and uncertainties.
Solomon writes in the 11th chapter, verse 3, ” If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie.” We experience but cannot foresee nor even control what happens in our lives. This is a given. And, it is a recurring theme in Solomon’s writings in Ecclesiastes.

What we must be able to do is determine which of the events in our life we can do nothing about and which ones we can. And, then, we must move on. We have no vocation in using our time in those things God is in control of. Psalms 24:1 ” The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

We don’t manage God’s affairs; He does. His responsibilities are His and when we let God and let go; we will know all that we have to concern ourselves with.

We need that spirit of trust and exploration looking at life’s risks and opportunities with God directed enthusiasm and zeal and faith! I was advised once by a three year old, “Chill, nana, chill.” A good friend told me, “Get your groove on, there’s so much to venture out on!”

Trust God, get going and live life fully and richly in the Power and Faith God has given us!
