The Timing Was On Target!

I have discovered that children are a measurement of one’s faith. Their timing to teach one a lesson is almost perfect! This morning I was busily in thought and study when my three year old grandson comes running in. “Nana,” he called out,”come, come.”
Now realize when I’m in study mode I don’t want to just get up and move and certainly be led by a three year old. But, the look on his face was exuberant and he took me by the hand and led me out.

As we go out to the backyard, he suddenly shouts, “Stop, Nana, don’t step there.” As I look down I see a praying mantis. We both get down to get a better look. I wasn’t sure it was alive, so I touched it and it moved.

“What is it, Nana?” “It’s a praying mantis,” I tell him. “It prays?” he asks. I look at him and realize what an opportunity to teach and learn. So we go inside and look it up on the internet and he was amazed at the different sizes and shapes and how it changes colors.

We saw one with its wings in full Splendor. He asks, “Is it an angel?” I look at him and explain why it is called the praying mantis and that it can look like an angel because of it’s wings.

“Oh, Nana,” he tells me, “I love you.” And, he scampered off. What did Solomon write? “…a time to be silent…”

The moment was priceless! In my silence, I thanked God for my grandson, who loves me with no reservation and tells me in moments I need to hear it most!

I believe God used my grandson this morning to let me know it was time to take a break and remember how much He loves me as well!
