The “if only’s” of my life are just that, “if only’s”! Have you ever told yourself, “if only” I had known this, “if only” I had done this, “if only” I had said this. Does it stir a memory or two? There are so many “if only’s” in life. Regrets of choices made or not made are just deja vu; illusions in our mind of what perhaps could have been.
Reality on the other hand is now; not yesterday or tomorrow-now! Now, today is our focal point because quite frankly, that’s all we have. Yesterday is gone, and we have no guarantee of tomorrow.
Every person dreams and most make plans for the future. It’s a normal thing to do. Then to achieve our plans and dreams, we work very hard to see them come true. I’m not saying that’s not a good thing because it is. However, we must remember if we want the best or the most of our life, we need to include God in our plans.
God has a plan for our life and it should be included in our own plan. It’s not a “when you wish upon a star” life! It’s a “not my will but thine be done” life. That is our reality!
God alone knows what is best for us. Trust me, He does! He is the only one that can fulfill his purpose for us. Go ahead make your plans, dream your dreams, but talk to God about them. Let him direct you, encourage you and share with you. He wants to do it, so let him!
“The Lord will work out His plans for my life–for your faithful love, Oh Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.” Psalm 138:8
