Earlier today, the cows we have grazing the pastures were moved from one side to another. The calves immediately began their frolicking and frisky jumping and running when they realized they had more space to roam. It’s fun watching them play to and fro with each other. They would run in and out of the gulley’s playfully nudging one another as one would try to outrun the others. There was no doubt their play was lighthearted and merry.
“What joy, and merriment,” I thought to myself. In fact, I found myself totally enjoying their antics and jauntiness. There I was laughing with joy just watching them enjoy each other and relishing their freedom. I understood the meaning of the descriptive prose written by Malachi; ” The Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.”
Life has its way of throwing those “curve balls” that catch us unaware. They can dull our happiness and crush our hopes. But, as noted by Malachi, we have hope, we have expectancy and gain in the “healing in his wings.” Despite how our life may look now, our God controls the future, and all will be made right. Those of us who have loved, lived and served God look forward to a jubilant celebration. This hope for the future becomes ours when we trust God with our lives.
Do you trust God with yours? God has always loved us. His love is unconditional. He will always come through for us and he will answer us when we call on Him. Simply put, we should serve God just because he is God and deserves to be served.
1st Peter 2:9 says, believers are God’s treasured possession. Is your life committed to God for safekeeping?
