Be Exalted, O Lord, Be Exalted!

There is no question that David loved God. And for most reading this, there is no question that you love Him as well. The depth of that love is dependent on our relationship with the Lord. Each one of us is responsible to develop the relationship and like most anything else, “the more we put into it, the more we will receive from it.”

There is no extraordinary formula to form our relation with the Lord. It’s quite clear-cut in the Scriptures. It’s basic, simple and given freely. David, like you and I had his faults and his “comings and goings.” He admitted his sin and more than that would repent of it as we should do.

In Chapter 22 of 2nd Samuel towards its end, David wrote, “The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Savior!” David could not forget all that God did for him, and, unworthy as he may have been, God came through for him. As I reflect on that thought, I remind myself that David’s God, who is my God does the same for me, as he does for you.

How can we deny the Lord our total loyalty, praise and more significantly, our entire worship and praise?

You may wonder why I ask such a question. It’s primarily because we don’t give him total devotion as we should. We become too involved with the “dailies” of our life. I admit that. In fact, in a one to one with me, I told myself I needed some major changes in my devotion to the Lord.

For one, when I pray I must ask forgiveness for my sins of the day; the ones I commit knowingly and the ones I don’t even recognize and genuinely repent of them. Then, ask God’s forgiveness and mercy.

How can I go to sleep at night without doing this? It’s total negligence! How many times do I remember to thank him for what He does on a daily basis? How many times do I wake up and fail to thank him for getting me up? It’s that simple and because it is; we forget or disregard him and continue with our “dailies” of life without giving him a second thought!
We must tell the Rock of our very being that He means all the world to us and that we are so very thankful for the gift of salvation. We must do this afresh every day of our life, because that in Itself is a tremendous gift!

I thank you, for my salvation and for loving me so unconditionally. I will praise you, Lord, I will exalt you for you alone deserve all the honor and the glory! I will Glorify and Magnify your Name! I don’t deserve what you have done for me, but I thank you! Blessed be your Name, Father, you are worthy of all praise!
