“Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Point the spear in your hand toward Ai, for I will hand the town over to you.’ Joshua did as he was commanded.” God gave the city to Joshua. It was God who helped them defeat the enemy. From the very beginning, God told him, “I will be with you wherever you go.” Our victories are won because God is there to help us.
And, when there is “sin in the camp” we need to acknowledge it and deal with it and quite frankly repent and ask forgiveness . Once that takes place, the victory’s lie ahead.
It is with God’s direction and guidance that we need not be discouraged or burdened with guilt. This is an enemy we must conquer and move on. Whatever the setback, we must renew and restore our efforts to carry out the will of God for our life.
We must depend on God with total obedience; following the instruction to be sure of the victory’s he has promised. It’s a continuous cycle of our life; because battles come at the most inopportune times and we have to be prepared! But, when we overcome them it is because The Lord helped us through them. He may be on the sidelines guiding and encouraging; but He is always there!
