Foolishness Part 2

Balaam was God’s messenger. And, as such, he obediently relayed the messages that God told him to relay. It was not a difficult job to relay God’s messages. I suppose that sometimes it wasn’t a popular thing to do because obviously God’s messages were firm and strong and he never changed his mind about them.
And, I can see that Balaam continued giving God’s messages without thinking twice about them. We can do that too. We ask God to show us, to direct us, to move in our behalf, and it becomes a ritual so to speak in lieu of an earnest request through God’s spirit.

I think perhaps that is why Balaam couldn’t see what the donkey saw. He couldn’t see the angel of the Lord because his heart perhaps wasn’t truly into mediating for God as his messenger.

He confessed that he had sinned and did not see what he should have been able to see all along. We have to be very in tune to this as well. Sometimes we ask and don’t receive because our heart is not conducive to receive God’s responses and messages.

We must ask God to remove all sin from our heart and to forgive us if we don’t see it or recognize it. This has happened to me and I ask God to please forgive my sins; those that I know are there and those that I don’t recognize.

I ask God to open my eyes of understanding and to let me see myself for who I am and to help me change my unbelief, my doubts, my wrongdoing and wrong thinking and to listen and obey. This is a constant daily request.

How can God refuse a humble heart and request? He won’t!

God doesn’t go back on his promises! “Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”

Never! God is faithful and true and is so worthy of our worship and praise!

We are surrounded by “Balak’s” if you will. They taunt us, and mock us, and tempt us, but we must respond as God would. Our nay should be nay and our yay should be yay.

We must bless that which God has blessed. We must learn to bless one another in the Name of the Lord!
