In Reflection

O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace. 1 Chronicles 29:13-15
King David understood the value of life and recognized that the years elapse so quickly. When he wrote the above scriptures, he knew that his life was at its end and his son, Solomon would assume the throne.

I’m sure that during these days, David did much reflecting. I know that at this stage in my life, I look back quite often and deliberate on years past. Of course there are things I would have done differently. However, I must admit that my decision to render myself to God has been the wisest decision I could have made.

It is one that I do not regret making. I’m at the beginning of my twilight years stage in my life. And, I am by far as busy as ever trying to impact my grandchildren to love God and know Him in spirit and in truth. I continue to encourage and pray with and for others to live for God and to trust Him. This is the best life; even when sometimes it all seems for naught! Winston Churchill said it clearly, “Never Give In!”
